good morning to you all, this is my first post on this forum, I have been on the sideline since about Christmas when i found this site, one off my better days on the computer ;) ye are a great bunch off people and discuss all topics in great detail which i enjoy and visit most days now my question to ye is this, is it getting (late) for an (over wintered) nuc or would a nuc now most likely consist of this years swarm with the old queen, hope i have posted this rite as i am a bit slow on the computer thanks in advance as i know i will get a good :smash:

there are still a few overwintered nucs about. most have been feed up to hives for spliting later into nucs again. but i have seen hives which while in a full box is defenitly no more than a nuc. if you get fresh nucs now someone has either got their act together or it could be a swarm or s a split made in any of a few other ways. ask around to see where does good relaible nucs then go there.

if you are stuck i saw a few down south on donedeal last week of so.

where abouts in ireland are you anyway?

hi newportbuzz thanks for your reply you have confirmed my thoughts ,i am down here in co. kerry. tralee. castlegregory.maharees. ???
its just that i have not owned bees for about 20yrs as i had an uncle who lived in America and used to come home for about 3-4 months each year and got me started in bees, fishing, shooting,if it happened outdoors we were not far away, great for a young lad off about 8-9 years as i was then, i kept 4 hives off bees for about 10 yrs till i left school when i got a job ,whit ch meant no more bees, no money in bees back then Celtic tiger you know have been promised a couple off nucs (overwintered)?????
we will just have to wait and see next week what is in the box
regards gerard
