Very useful plant. There is a variety that blooms late autumn too. Looks very similar but has longer flower stalks.
 
This looks like the wilder variety that spreads well. Trim it back after flowering to keep it low but watch out for the sharp bits! The cultivated varieties are usually longer flower stems.
