I know I will get trashed for asking this question, but here goes.
Will the bees only 'fan' at the entrance of the hive if there is a queen in there?

My bees fan at the entrance after an inspection if quite a few have been displaced. I'm sure that just means, "here's home".
 
but if you really want to get beaten up, we can always meet at a mutually agreed location. I can do proper beatings or what is officially known in the Home Office as applying momentary transitory discomfort - which is nice :D:beatdeadhorse5:
 
I have just requeened a Q- swarm - bees fanned at the entrance...when Q-

I wanted to unite the physcos. I destroyed all the cells and looked through twice for a queen without success. I will now wait another fortnight to see if a queen starts laying. Will reconsider the uniting again then. Until that time arrives I will have to BBQ in my bee suit. Oh the joys. Thanks to eveyone.

Hi Batcher,
They also fan hours after a swarm has issued from anyone of the nearby colonies!
