Will the bees only 'fan' at the entrance of the hive if there is a queen in there?

My bees fan at the entrance after an inspection if quite a few have been displaced. I'm sure that just means, "here's home".

no, bees can also fan at the entrance to regulate the temperature inside the hive

They also do it when youngsters are doing orienting flights - to make sure they don't get lost!

I wanted to unite the physcos. I destroyed all the cells and looked through twice for a queen without success. I will now wait another fortnight to see if a queen starts laying. Will reconsider the uniting again then. Until that time arrives I will have to BBQ in my bee suit. Oh the joys. Thanks to eveyone.
