What I would do in your circumstances....
I would put a super on underneath your bb. Heavy to lift on top but possible. Later in the year I would use that super to get another hive going. Just because a super has brood in at some point doesn't mean it always has to.... Just make sure the queen isn't in it and put it above a QE later in the year. Brood will emerge and they will fill it with stores.
Whatever you decide to do with it it will solve your present problem quickly and easily.
