I put a post on last week re a swarm of bees that appeared in my garden !!
i made a hive and put the swarm in the hive . I'm learning every day about them and have got help from a few places including here ( thanks )
I've since noticed where they came from ! up a old popular 10 m from my house ! I climbed the 7 m up and could see all the bees and honeycomb !

1 hour ago another swarm has formed and in the last hour ive made another national hive brood box ! and another 11 frames with wired wax starters !

All the bees bar 50/100 on a little branch have now been transfered to the new hive ! and are giving the signals that they are happy !

The only problem i have is they are in the middle of my next door neighbours lawn and need moving !!
Can i move them now to there resting place 50 m away??
or should i wait while morning / dark to do this .
I realise that their first flight from the hive is going to be their orientation flight !

A few points
My other bees seem to bee all busy and present in my other hive .
I did not see a queen when putting the bees in this new hive ( but that does not surprise me as i put them in on bulk )!!.
My queen is now marked by the way ! so she would have been easier to see !!

Thanks woody

If they have just gone in the hive near where they clustered, then move them this evening once they all start flying. No need for the 3 mile jump. They have no sense of "home" after first swarming.

Better to move them tonight or even now if all the bees are in the box.

This swarm will almost certainly be a cast from the sounds of your description and will be headed by a virgin queen so she will need time to mate and start to lay so providing they stay in your nice hive give it a couple of weeks before you look inside so as not to disturb the queen on her mating flights

Thanks

I think it is a cast !
I tried the " move now option " but after half an hour I'd got
A few hundred bees flying around the old
Spot ! I don't think these had flown back from the hive I think they were the ones that had ventured out !
I'm going to mOve it after dark and see what happens in the morning !

Thanks woody

I don’t think you will have any problems in the morning but if you lean something against the entrance not to block it but something that the bees have to fly round or bang their heads it may distract then and make them think something different.

Good look perhaps more casts who knows

Thanks tom
i moved it back to where i want it an placed a super frame with wax in it at the end of the ramp about 4 inch from the entrance .
that should do it !!
more casts !!!!!! 2 weeks ago i did not have a bee !!! now two hives .
what am i going to do !?
