Hi All,

Saw the forums and thought "They look a nice bunch".

Name's Gary, I live in a small village (Aldborough) between Cromer and Aylsham.

Kept bees years ago and restarted last year.

Managed to keep all 3 hives through the winter (and they were VERY busy today)

Hope we get some nice weather to help them really get going

Welcome, Gary!

Sounds like you've had better luck (or made yourself better luck) over the winter than many I've heard about.

Thanks for the Welcome

I bought 2 hives and captured a swarm (from my own hive) last year, decided as the weather here had been so bad I wouldn't take anything off and I fed them, although only 2 of the 3 hives took the syrup. Totally missed any decent weather for treating for Varroa, so ended treating the clusters in the one good weekend in February, since then it's been dire and I put (home made) fondant on them 2 weeks ago as insurance.

Hope that will be enough to keep them going until we have some decent weather for a flow.

First time in my life I've managed to keep all my hives, in the mid 80's to about Y2k I had between 1 and 3 hives and lost at least one every year.

So I'm feeling quite pleased with myself -- hope that isn't pride before a fall
