I need to move a hive, where I left two supers on over winter. Wasn't able to access the hive much last year.
They have all moved up into the supers and no brood in the broodbox.
Plannning to just plonk the supers onto a floor and move them.
One the cold snap has past I will go through find the queen and put her in the Broodbox below an excluder and let them brood hatch out above it.
Tempted to put another entrance above the QX too to release any drones, always find it a bit sad when they are trapped above a QX.
Any other considerations.

Alternative is to put the brood box above the supers and queen excluder, with the queen above. (Give her a frame of brood from the super which will get bees up and keep her warm). This is essentially a Bailey comb exchange although you are not exchanging - just getting the bees to the brood box where you want them. The warmth from the brood in the supers will help 'upstairs' and bees will use up the stores which will become below the brood nest as the queen continues to lay. I doubt you have drones yet and they won't be a problem in the 3 weeks it will take for the brood to emerge from the nadired supers.

For me it depends on how much stores are left in the supers. If there is a lot then I would do as you have suggested, but if not much then what Hebeegeebee suggests above.
