National to commercial?

I'm future planning for spring.

When it comes to AS or split hives, I'm planning to move from national brood to commercial brood.

Am I right in thinking that i will split and put the national brood above the commercial box with foundation. Feed like mad and allow the queen to move up and down. After 3 weeks or so, isolate the queen to the commercial and 3 weeks later remove the national brood.

Is there a better way?

I am moving to my main hives to commercial boxes, there are a few methods.
Shook swarming, just shake all the bees into the new hive. Or im going to try the bailey comb change.
