national ,commercial,& 14x12 question

have i got this right
a commercial is a national made with dove tail corners and the brood is 12" deep
a 14x12 is a national with a 12" brood
and all floors, roofs and supers are the same except commercial may have dovetail corners
also would it be fair to say some poly stuff inter changes with all the above but its not a guaranteed fit or should it all mix and match

I’ve only got national but commercial super frame side bars are longer and not compatible with national

No - A Commercial is 16x10"
the frames also have shorter lugs

Some poly manufacturers make their boxes compatible-ish but don't let your imagination run away with your wallet.
It's best to choose one format and stick with it exclusively.
Sometime you will find yourself in a corner as we all have done/will do and having kit you could have dug yourself out with but cannot use because it's incompatible is an utter ballache.
