I must ahev missed a cell. I thought I'd left only 1. Anyway a small caste has gone off and I've nothing to put them in.

Any improv ideas?

Thanks,

Dave

Do you have a spare super and crown board ?

You could always make an entrance in the crownboard and turn it away from the hive entrance and allow them to live in a block of flats until you can get a box for them.

I always find casts with virgins very hard to keep as they seem hell bent on running away even after hiving, not sure how you will get on with an old mated queen with a cast.

Thanks Admin. That's what I have done. It looked like a small caste but by the time I had collected kids, adapted crown board and got a super it looked quite a big swarm and it rapidly filled 1 super so I gave the swarm a 2nd. Its on top of one of my weaker hives so I will unite at some point.

Now I need to collect my thoughts and try and work out the story behind the swarm.

Many thanks,

Dave
