Dusties gaff on TV tonight? Hairy biker builder program, looks as if the hives will have to be moved!

Yes, interesting time that was.

Just my luck. The roof being replaced just as one of the colonies turned nowty.
Three of the roofers got stung.

The RBI suggested culling the hive - and I very nearly did.
But I didn't think it would look good in the headlines:
"Cathedral Canon is a mass murderer!"

We could only carry out inspections after they had gone home at the end of the day, or on Saturdays. We requeened, but by the time they were calm again, the roofers had finished.

Cost me half a dozen jars of my own best honey that did!

There's never a dull moment, beekeeping on the cathedral roof.
Only 3 weeks ago, MI5 got interested and I was severely limited in when I could inspect, before the Somme Memorial service. After the final inspection, a security man sarcastically asked if there was any ticking in the hives.
"No," says I, "Just a loud humming noise".
Took him a second to cotton on.

My next meeja appearance?
Some background fluff to a radio prog about the Catherdral, by Melvyn Bragg, end of August.

Dusty.

Dusty you certainly put my own 'never a dull moment with bees' altogether, into perspective! Love the MI5 bit. Must look up the Hairy Bikers programme.
