This was an email I received today from my local association, made me .:laughing-smiley-014

Please can all beeks please look through hives and see if they have 2 bees missing........ Jim had a phone call from a lady today stating she had 2 bees in her house ! Previously she had only had single bees now they have doubled in numbers she is becoming concerned, so lady would be grateful if we looked in hives to see if any were missing.
Thanks for your time

If everyone on the forum emailed this lady, telling her we had bees missing from our hives. Do you think she might be kind enough to go out hunting for them with a net. I would be very grateful if she could pay for the postage to send them back to me.

Could you describe the ones you are missing BKP as I was thinking that they matched the description of mine!

That'll be Betty and Brenda and it's not the first time they've pulled this stunt on me! Whats more it reflects so badly on the rest of the colony.

Possibly this increase in numbers has to do with local neighbourhood watch members, who complained that they only ever see single patrols checking thier properties and garden sheds for security.

Rosti, if your Betty and Brenda flew all the way from North Yorkshire to Warwickshire, I'm labelling them SuperBees!

(Nominate this for Thread of the Year!)

Nearly as funny as the lady asking a bee breeder to " Please supply me with ONE QUEEN and ONE DRONE "

John Wilkinson

Nearly as funny as Chris Evans's interpretation of supercedure this morning. Along the lines of explaining that aside from the queen, all the bees in the hive are males. When the queen has to go she is escorted away by the male bees, one of whom then appoints himself queen and undergoes a sex change.

Sadly couldnt stay tuned to hear the subsequent comments

You can laugh with your well behaved East Anglian bees .... As I said, it's not like this is the first time, those two are thick a thieves, dressed up as Wasps for Halloween, put a hell of a fright up the rest of them, how they laughed! They've done it before. It was very kind of Norton to give them a syrup feed before sending them on the return leg the last time they pulled this stunt - and that was back in January. Tough mongrels up here you know.
