Was chatting to a farmer pal last night and he commented that although the OSR has already been out for a few weeks it will remain for a few weeks more as the ground temperature has been so low.

With temperatures (in this area at least) due to improve next week perhaps we will see some sort of a crop after all

Well I have no OSR in range, but I do notice apple blossom and hawthorn starting to appear, so let's hope it warms up!

Makes sense to me. Around here, only a small percentage of each plants flowers are out. Around 90% are still in tight bud and it doesn't seem to be changing much (probably as you say due to the cold weather).

Fingers crossed for the next few weeks.

Apple blossom is well ahead of the hawthorne/whitethorne locally. Apple growers are reporting a fair bit of frost damage to the buds though.

There is a hope, but I am not expecting a 'crop'. I would be happy if I am wrong, but enough to sustain the bees will be a plus, after the last month. All depends on the weather - I daresay if it came really unseasonally hot for a week the crop could be over, if it stays too cold, for much nectar flow, they will stay in bloom longer. Lose, lose situation, as I see it at this present time.
