Leftover from last year

First year bee keeping 2011. Lots of mistakes, hopefully learnt a great deal. Gave away remaining bees at end of year. Had a small amount of honey. Initially I was over zealous in the extraction process much of the comb broke away or collapsed. These frames were put away wet. Taking them out they look and smell ok even now.
Have got new bees for 2012 (from the same source).
Can I give these frames to my new bees or what are my alternatives for use/ re-use please?

If they are in too much of a mess buy some new foundation to go in the frames. How come you gave your bees away last year?
