You can try it but I suspect you will spend a lot of time boiling kettles to remove the waxy mess. I would test it on a bit of dowel as if making queen cups and see if the wax grips or not before, note BEFORE trying the mould.

I canna give you figures but make your release water VERY soapy, and I used to use Fairy washing up liquid to the point the release water was green with the soap.

Sometimes practical experience is worth listening to. *shrug*

Good luck and it needs more soap than you would think and no I never saw bees blowing bubbles as no doubt someone is about to suggest.

here's mine, home made works great lift the flap up pour and wood on top to press down , had a leaf one but the rubber soon came off so made this, not had any problems odd one with hole in but just chuck it back in the boiler here are some pics.

I made 100's of those, the last was 97/98, most went abroad, if I get time ill rummage for some instructions, they were never the best!! The last version had a wooden rim on the base to contain the wax while it was cooling, will have a look for some pics tomorrow of one being demoed back in February!

You will also need templates to cut your sheets to size and the best cutter that I found was a pizza wheel.

I know this is a different model to yours but i like the idea of the funnel on the front to run all the spare wax back into the melting pot.

Yes I like that idea as well, I might try and bodge something together so it works like that. I'm going to add a handle also and make a stand so it's above any wax over flow. I been watching videos and all the presses I have seen are not heavy like this one?
