Aldi are selling medium and large latex gloves at 3.99 per box of 100 atm if people are interested.

Thanks for that, dpearce. Picked up a couple of boxes on Sunday.

While I prefer nitriles, these are great value.

My bees don't appear to like black.

Dates back to the bees disliking bears (brown or black?) Over the last umpteen millenia, I believe.

'Shoot now, ask questions later' type strategy for self preservation. Seems a simple enough explanation to me.

I would say that in my experience black / dark colours do not mix well with bees.

Although I don't know if it was the colour (black) or the texture of my fleece that time that a bee took exception to it!

** Plus lighter colours make for a better background for photos! **

I find that wearing black clothing makes no difference at all to the bees, i always wear black jeans, and sometimes even a black or dark coloured shirt.

Brother Adam also tended to wear black or dark coloured clothing when working with his bees.

Maybe it's the contrast; white suit black gloves say?
I replaced a husband's hood zip on an old suit with a black one and there are always more bees around the zip than on the rest of the suit. Wearing black jeans with a light coloured jacket, however, seems to make no difference to the distribution of bees.
