I think that if the crownboard is warm (well-insulated) and there's a bit of weight on the roof, reforming the prop seal isn't such a chore for the bees.

i'm another dayglo pink Posca convert.
easy to spot. colour coding of queens unnecessary if you keep records or otherwise label hives. plus neighbours know which swarms are yours and a good bit of supporting evidence if subject to theft and can identify a suspect.
