My mate and me run good 32 hives atm plus another 20 apidea's with spare q's,and yes, those tiny apidea's make it each year through the winter with zero fails,as it is we just passed our 8th season without any hive losses,so,the breed we own and the system we work them is more than satisfying.W're in Belgium btw.Where my mate mainly does the "in the hive" work,i'm mostly busy planting and sowing all sort of plants, alltho i help with the feeding and treating as well, just don't like to handle the frames and q's since my heartattack my eyesight isn't what it was and my fingermovements are bit unreliable, last thing i want to do is squeeze a P-zero q,so avoiding that as much as possible.W've P0 island q's,F1's and AI's.I joined this group since i was reading bit of asian hornet stuff on here but couldn't react to it.

Welcome. How is the hornet problem? I’m hearing from parts of France that the situation is dire!
They showed up in our region in Belgium first time now this year.As soon as i noticed them in front of the hives it took me a day or 10 before i had a clear look at the fly away direction.Went and placed a lurepot 800 meters SW,tried to find a reverse direction spot to start triangulation, but it was even further away but with plenty visits on the lurepot and open field we could real good spot the direction, next pot we placed on another 900 m SW happend to be just 4 meters away from the nest...done.Second nest we destroyed was way closer at just 780 m,but they never came to our hives, that nest was reported by the property owner. So far so good,no more visits in 3 weeks now,but at 10 km from our location is a hunt going on for several nests and some seem hard to find,if not,we'll have a sh.tload more problems on our hands by next year.
