When I went out on Friday night to deliver new supers, I noticed the tower with one of my Amm colonies had a big bunch of bees all around and inside the lobby of the UFE. There was a nice little hole on each side of the bunch, as they drew air in one and out of the other, there was also that happy hum :)
Today I put another box on top as they had drawn and filled the last one in a week.

I wish you’d taken a picture
I’m forever trying to explain how bees ventilate hives to people who insist on holes in thecrown board. That would have a brilliant thing to show them.
I popped down to the apiary at six this morning and I have bees outside all the hives. I wish I’d looked closer now.
Thanks for posting that Steve.

I’ve got 3 of my colonies with bees outside. They do have the room inside as I’ve put another super on. But they’re still outside, so I guess it’s normal in hot weather

If you look google pictures "beehive bearding", you see lots of examples
.

Swarms hang on bushes, not along hive.

IT may take few says that they give up from their habit. 25C is not hot to bees.
