Is it easy to tell the difference between stored and capped sugar syrup and honey?

I have an overwintered super and is full and capped. I did feed them 2 lots of 5L syrup since last Sept.

Should I extract it or is it easy to taste the syrup?

Syrup does not crystallize during winter. It is very sweet but no aroma.

If you make a false swarm of you get a swarm, give frames to bees together with foundations,
bees eate sugar and use it in wax making.
