Hi all, I installed a nuc this time last week and put a feeder on the hive with invertbee to help draw out frames ASAP. For the first day or two there seemed to be lots of entrance activity but now almost nothing, the bait hive I have some 50yrds away seems busier than the main hive (I don’t believe there is a swarm in there)

Could this be a function of time I.e I have a look when I come home from work or have others seen entrance activity drop with a nuc with feeder?

Just wanna prep myself for inspection this weekend. It shouldn’t be this stressful lol.

Just think about it, why would the foraging bees be out when you have a feeder on ? Why fly a mile for forage when its 1 inch above your head. bees ain't thick. Scout bees will always be on the look out for other options.

Cheers, Mick.

Exactly the question I was going to ask, your answer makes perfect sense. My small swarm are only sending out very few foragers since adding the rapid feeder. I've also got scouts in my nuc bait hive 100 yards away. Are you watching my hives!!
