Had my first proper 'over-anxious newbie' moment today
- though there was some justification from the old distaff side of the family.

On Saturday I removed the emptied supers I'd put over a clearer board with open access for the gals to pick over; replaced them with an English feeder full of cappings with the same purpose. I'm using 14x12.

Today, they seemed more testy than usual first thing. Told 'er outdoors it was best to leave them alone - so she starts tidying up the herbs 6 feet away from the front of the hive - and gets a sting on the chin.

Having dealt with that medical emergency, I pop the lid to look through the look-see crown board - to find they're turning the old cappings into horizontal wild comb. Hmmm. What's that about then?

Instead of leaving well alone, I carry on with an inspection, to find.......
.........well, nothing really.
BIAS on 5/6 (never know how to calculate these things) and plenty of uncapped stores - and room still to manoeuvre.

So I should have just left them till Saturday, but 'er-now-indoors was a bit peeved.

I only post this for information, you understand.
Not looking for reassurance or advice or anything.
Heaven forbid!

Dusty
