I aim for 4…often becomes 6
If there’s a good flow on how long might it take for a colony to draw out a full super of new foundation and then fill it?

Depends on the strength of the colony and how good the flow is but I had a strong colony which I put a super of foundation on a Saturday and it had the box fully drawn and bar for the end frames which still had some space on the outermost side it was almost filled by the Thursday.

So under a week.

Colony is single brood and it’s their first super. I think there is a pretty good flow on

How many frames of brood?
I've just recently put supers on single brood that was a week ago the flow has only been going for three days and some have two to three frame three quarters drawn.
Most are between 6 to 9 frames of brood. (Solid)
Colonys on the vetch( double brood) I will be checking in 5 days, hairy vetch has been flowering for 3 weeks or so I would have to look at my diary's.
Demarreed colonys.
Much the same as my doubles.
Big colonys - strong flow, adding supers near enough every week although there was a lul untill the weather picked up.
Quite a few variables to give a true time scale.
By the end of the season I will be able to give more of an answer based on the flows from the vetch.

About 8 good frames of brood.

I was just interested as I assume there is a big difference between giving a colony a drawn super to fill and giving them a super of foundation they have to draw out before they can fill it
