Depending upon the honey show, it can be a good night's craic.
Was at a local association show last night, run instead of their usual monthly meeting. In the past I understand they have run a quiz or shown a DVD whilst the judging was taking place but last night it was tea, coffee and sandwiches with a generous helping of chat whilst the judging was going on.
Only entered three classes but got a first for a block of wax and second in the open class. I simply don't have the time to properly prepare a big number of entries. The folk who win the prizes tend to fit the profile of being retired or semi-retired and with the time to properly prepare their entries.
Other shows are a lot more formal.
