Yes they advertise middle of Lidl and their forthcoming offers with an email about three weeks in advance ... but you have to be quick with the jam makers ... they sell out very quickly .. they usually have them around middle of April so coming up in the next few months. They are very popular with home brewers and their forums will flag up when they are on sale as well.

Ha I've had it if I'm stuck at sea then ,will have to send the misses !

That can't be it because both have a heated lid and thermostat.

I bought a basic Abelo Melliflow when it came out (before I knew they were going to produce an insulated version) and it has bottom and top (fan) heater and individual thermostats.
I was thinking on getting one of the basic models were you happy with it

Yes, it worked well until this winter when the tank heating cable or switch blew. Damian & Mark at Abelo were v efficient and I sent photos which went to Lyson and a new £89 cable arrived; means drilling out the tank casing rivets to access the cable, and I paid for the new cable. Later tanks were screwed rather than riveted to obviate the access problem.

There is no doubt that an insulated tank is more efficient and cheaper to run and worth paying the extra; I've reduced heat leak by sticking silicone strip where the lid meets the tank rim; the outer casing gets hot.

The removable lid is awkward to manhandle when space is limited. An article in the last BFA mag showed how a beefarmer made the job of removing his lid easier by attaching it to two cables and a counterweight, so that it rises above the tank. The models with a fixed lid and gas struts would be worth the extra money.

One further irritation: the tank sides are pitched but not so the base of the floor, which means I have to wedge a block under one end to drain out the honey or wax completely. This is necessary because the drain hole is not entirely at the lowest point, a result of manufacturing rather than design, I reckon.

I have a later insulated model but not the most recent- the lid is not hinged. The internal floor on mine is pitched so no need for blocks to create a drainage slope. The lid lifting system is this year's DIY project, having somewhere to leave the lid when it's in use is a pain when space is limited.

Took delivery of a MelliFlow pro today, it's currently sat with honey in being warmed for filtering and bottling.
It isn't the hinged lid one as I intend to make an extension for it so it will heat twice as much honey.

Yes I know , it's hard to part with the dollar when you know your being stripped. To avoid such a scenario have you got that Amazon link?
I bought it on amazon.de pre brexit. It is a kesser preserving machine 27l I think it came to E60 at the time and that included shipping
