Hi All

Thought I would introduce myself, I am fairly new to the world of beekeeping, at the start of the year, joined my local Bee Keeping Club, and have been on a candidate on their "introduction to bee keeping" course, which has been thoroughly enjoyable. Since starting the course, I haven't stopped reading and researching the world of bee keeping.
Last Saturday I attended the first practice at the Apiary visit, and looked in a hive for the first time, and took part removing frames and supers. Learnt so much, and cant wait for the next session and didn't stop smiling through the whole session.
My plans are to get bees next year, and planning to use this year gaining the practice experience.

Hi Paul

Welcome.
May have seen you there - not so far away in Rowde and I do have bees in Potterne. This is a good place to get info but normal caveats on beekeeping advice apply! IE 3 beekeepers equals 4 plus opinions, one of which might be right.

Best of luck

David

Thank you for the message really enjoyed my apiary visit, next job is to get my own bee suit, but so many to choose from

Hi Paul and welcome. Re' the Bee suit, I would suggest either BBWear or Sherriff. Not exactly cheap, but the cheaper suits often prove to be a false economy in the short to medium term. It's usually the zips/veil that goes first - effectively rendering the suit ineffective.
