Clear takeaway tubs for me where fondant is needed.
A pair of tubs over the feed hole equates to 3lb feed. Placing them like this means I can glance under the roof to see how much has been consumed, without breaking propolis seals or losing lots of heat from the hive. Fondant doesn't dry out or ooze down between frames. I can carry as much fondant as I might need ready-packed for easy non-sticky application. I prefer it to our previous method of using fondant slices packed in thin plastic bags (think supermarket veg counter) that were slit open with a hive tool at point of use, and it's vastly better than trying to cut blocks of fondant in out-apiaries and ending up in a sticky mess!
