Giordan extractor not working. Any suggestions please

It is only a year old and worked well last year. It has been stored in a warm dry place.

When I turn the handle, it does not spin!

It sort of makes a knocking noise. If I push the frames to get it turning, the handle sometimes clicks into place and connects to what ever it is meant to.

In the images below, is it safe to unscrew the covering plate without things flying out?

Last time I opened up a mechanism, springs shot out and made things worse!

Any suggestions for a fix greatly appreciated!

Take it apart to have a look, sounds to me like the gears arent meeting for some reason and need re seeting.

I'd be inclined to ring either manufacturer or the place you bought it from. Even if it is out of guarantee, I'd have thought that you would be due some goodwill as failure after this short of period would suggest not fit for purpose.

Perhaps don't deconstruct before doing this...

Thanks, I have just emailed the dealer explaining the problem.

I will keep you posted how things develop.

If you got it from Clive at Agri Nova he is a really decent helpful chap.

Sounds to me like the gears are not seating too. Should be easy to sort, but I agree, best to see what your supplier says first

Just had an email from Clive saying he will send a replacement gear box!

Also not to open the gear box as they are sealed for life.
