So applying the same strategy to Amm and buckfast will yield the same results will it?

Variances amongst colonies are common.

3 or 4 weeks left in the flow, there's a distinct slowing down amongst my bees and I've extracted the first dozen or so supers of the early bramble honey, very pale quite mild honey but with a nice floral hint of aftertaste.

I stand by the timings, Bramble flowering hasn't peaked yet, no more than 1/3rd of buds open, and rosebay willowherb a little under half plenty of rain this last week, showers next week. No reason I can see why it would tail of like it did last year in the drought(weather permitting of course)
Ditto for the honey that's been coming in, I reckon if you've seen it slowing this last week that it's purely down to the greater cloud cover there's been. Of course it's all only potential til the weather plays ball.

Trying to judge when to throw the towel in, clear the honey off and prepare a few trailer loads of bees for the trip to the heather is no mean feat. As usual with this game it's wait, wait, wait a bit more then hurry up and do everything all at once or risk missing the boat.

I was up for a walk at two heather sites last week where it looked a long way off yet. Don't think I'll move any before August.

Took a couple of hives up to the moors (N. Yorks moors) about three weeks ago...... after some Bell which is looking stunning at the moment. Ling is a bit off yet, but will start taking hives up next week as the bell will provide sufficient forage for the newcomers.
Prospecting two new potential heather sites on Monday as lost access to an old one when the tenant farmer moved on. Shame as that site produced the purest heather honey we have ever had. It was over 99% heather pollen in it...amazing.

I see Norman Collier is still alive and kicking

No, either side of Betws-y-Coed. Not amazing spots but Snowdonia heather isn't all that. Corwen way would be better but I haven't got around to sorting sites further away. It's tough to go exploring heather sites at the times of year they're easiest to spot
