From the outside in?

Having added added a super last weekend and removed one frame of stores from the BB, we had a peek inside the crown board yesterday to see if they had started to draw out the new frames in the super, as the weather has been good.

Well they have nearly finished 2 frames and made a good start on 3, but the frames they have finished are the ones on the outside of the box and the ones that they are now working on are then next ones in, they have not touched the middle ones at all, but many people suggest that they would normally start at the centre?

they are on Masie Poly 14 x 12 with poly super and 50mm celotex in roof.
I know bees do what they want not what we expect/want, but has anyone else seen this?

You are seeing poly at work. Think about it which is the warmest place?

Seen swarms do this times, they start on the face next to the wall as its the warmest.

Thanks both for confirming its normal in Poly, thought our bees were being daft.

Not at all they are actually being very sensible which oddly now and again they do.
