I am new to this only got my first hive on Sunday but there wasn't a lot of activity with the bees today so I put 1kg of sugar with 1pint of water in a feeder on top of the crown board please tell me is that correct
I can't imagine they'll mind, you'll soon be able to tell if they've used it. Some people feed Baker's Fondant all year round and some people give white sugar that's just been dampened.

If you're hoping for 1:1 solution it would be a kilo of sugar to a litre of water, or a pound of sugar to 16 fluid ounces of water.

A pint is 20 fluid ounces, so would need 20 ounces of sugar.

A kilo weighs 2.2lbs, which is a little over 35 ounces

2:1 is twice as much sugar as liquid. 2 kilo:1 litre or 1lb:8fl oz water

Following on from my syrup stats earlier, they took down the 4 kilos of 1:1 syrup (2k sugar, 2k water) in two days; I've given it a couple of days (temp reached 15° yesterday and loads of pollem going in and orientation flying) but now it's cold and wet again, so I've just bunged another 2k of syrup in the feeder. I'm trying to build this remaining colony up so I can AS and split them into my empty hive - which was robbed out by an absolute plague of wasps last Autumn.

Bees flying

I am experiencing rain/hail and sunny spells , have had a quick look in two of my hive and they have stores and are filling cells in the supas i put on in march, plenty of pollen going into all my colonies, think it is a case of keep an eye on them and if in doubt feed fondant or syrup while this cold spell lasts.

Between hail showers our lot are shooting straight out without stopping on the landing board. The nearby sycamores are humming.
I managed to get a look in yesterday. OK for stores so have left feeders on empty, just in case, and hefted each box to get a feel of what they weigh with enough stores till the next inspection. Some bluebell and dandelion pollen going in but despite the fields being awash with those dandelions it's too wet for much pollen.
Weather forecast getting warmer though still wet.
