I used to live near a scrumpy maker and was told...' Sorry, no scrumpy - all the rats have been dying of diseases lately'!

They wouldn't age a barrel unless it had a newly deceased rat in it...

I always wondered about all those apples they pick... there's got to be a few maggots in them...

What I remember of my visits to the cider making places when I was a kid was the most enormous pit thing they tipped lorry loads of apples into... Oh and the free samples we sneaked in the room with the barrels.

Oh how I enjoyed those Sunday afternoon trips out.
