I have a hive that is booming with no stores.
I also have a couple of supers full of crystalised honey that have been attacked by wax moth and have lots of silk in them.
Was thinking of putting it below the brood box for the bees to salvage.
Any harm in this?

Brush the silk off the surface and simply plonk on top, bee swill clean up and use the stores.

I have put the super under the brood box so that they clear it out
Tried to get the silk out
The bees are hungry so should not be too fussy in this wet weather

Try this method; worked for me; if you don't close the bottom entrance and fit an upper, bees will fill the super with pollen.

I soaked whole boxes of frames for a while in a tank of water, put them straight on and left them for about a week; in this nectar drought bees should get onto it quickly, so watch out for robbing: solid floor would be better.
