Hello, I was just wondering if anyone knows if having syrup on a hive stops the bees wanting to go out and forage as much?

Cheers Josh

Im feeding as they have a new super on so to encourage drawing out on the foundation.

and you'll end up with sugar not honey in the combs.
If there's forage around they'll use that to draw comb.
If there's no forage around, they don't need the comb so take the super off and feed.

All done, thank you for your advice! I was advised the latter that’s why I put the syrup on but have just taken it off.

Thanks again, Josh
