One of the tests mentioned in the IWF video "C13136 - selection of the honeybee - honey yield and behaviour" is leaving a frame of brood exposed to see if the bees desert the frame. The video talks about it being exposed for a short time....but how long? I can't seem to find it on the coloss website.
I went through a 4 box langstroth yesterday and left one comb exposed while I went through 10 frames in a brood box...this was a detailed inspection not a cursory glance. All of the bees stayed on the frame. I didn't time it but it was certainly in excess of 5 minutes
