I have just been informed by DBKA that there has been an outbreak of EFB discovered in 10km square SK45 which is centred around the Alfreton area, Derbyshire. The offending colony has been recently moved into the area from the Bakewell district 10km square SK26. It is believed that EFB may have been around this area for some time. Can all those who have hives in these 10km squares please check your colonies and above all make sure all your apiary sites are registered on FERA’s data base. The search will extend 5km into the neighbouring squares, so if you have colonies in SK16, 17 and 27 please also make sure you are registered on FERA’s database. Will post if I hear anymore.
