Apologies if this is a silly question that I should already know the answer too. Inspecting the hives today and noticed that the bees have stopped producing drones. The last few are hatching out. Still plenty of worker brood being laid though. I thought the drone cells would be repurposed for worker brood or will they be filled with winter stores etc? Do they ever repurpose drone cells to worker cells? I have foundationless frames so when I moved the nucs into the full hives earlier in the year, they made plenty of drone comb, probably more that’s needed for next season. Will I just have to cycle it out?
