Does Wasp Bane contain a pheromone?

I have previously posted my experiences with Wasp Bane but have just happened upon Thorne's advert which states that it contains a wasp-specific pheromone. Strangely, maybe, the WB website doesn't make this claim. I have a vague memory ( as per most of my memories nowadays) that last year I contacted the manufacturers who told me that the bait does not have any specific attractant. I can't find this correspondence and I may be totally deluded.....

I think it's just plain bog standard carbohydrate based wasp attractant such as Vespulure, available at most pest control suppliers.

Thanks, I've never heard of Vespulure - doesn't sound like a pheromone (= insect produced) according to this (fascinating) website. Have you used it?

No, I've never felt the urge to attract more wasps to my apiaries, I only know of it (and the other lure) as I have an account with Barrettine (Bristol based) as they supplied the rodenticide handling course for the BFA a few years ago and it's where I get my rat bait. and I always browse their catalogue when it hits the doormat. they sell it in five litre containers for pesties to top up their commercial wasp traps in the summer.

Yes, @Karol PM'd me with the facts. There is no pheromone nor any attractant. The attractant is whatever the owner of the WB chooses to put in the chamber eg beer or jam and water. The Waspbane powder preserves this bait so that it lasts a season and doesn't 'go off'. Merely adding water to the WB powder would not attract wasps.
@Karol emphasises that WB is marketed for commercial use and is not promoted for beekeepers.
