DLQ – Have squished same in anticipation of combining colony with Q+. Will 24-36 hours suffice before combination?

either immediately or when they've ran out of eggs to make EQC's from.
Better off just shaking them out at this time of year.
Thanks Millet, tea sound nice - malt even better. As there was brood (Drone) I anticipate the colony will require time to become hopelessly Q- .... hence the time query.
What if it's lashing down with sub 7.C temperatures .. ? .
They became hopelessly Q- the minute you killed the the drone laying queen, unless there were two. You can unite them straight away.
I united two mating nucs in such temperatures yesterday..The key is to know what you are doing, have everything prepared and do it as quickly as possible.
I believe it is ok to unite in such temperatures.. my post was aimed at a comment regarding shaking them out in cold weather..
I certainly would not do such a thing.I don’t think anybody would shake bees out when the rest aren’t flying.......surely!
