Are they considerably cooler? I am certainly tempted purely because I boil up in no time in a BB Wear. I was inspecting in pouring rain the other day and was no wetter than usual. If they really do cut down on the squelch, I'll go for one.

The Oz Armour suit is a ventilated suit designed for use in hot weather. It's bee sting impregnability is a fortunate bi-product of it's ventilated design. Think of a string vest with layers of mesh either side. It is heavy but not noticebale when wearing one.

Yes I can see the advantages. I do get pretty drippy when the weather is good.
I'd like to sneak one of your honey melting water reducing machines past Stan he might not notice it ..... much :)

As it's on free moving casters, you could disguise it as a nice looking plant pot mover for a while.
It would be great for keeping tropical plants on as you'd be able to keep them nice and warm.

Yes they are much cooler, very much so. You are effectively working in a string vest and \I wasn't kidding about only wearing speedos.
They guarantee your money back if you get stung through the suit (not the mask). I tested this pout with a very aggressive colony and apart from the bee that found it's way into my hood, they seem impregnable. Only faults are poor quality elastic thumb and foot cuffs and badly designed zip pullers on the hood. The Oz amour tags meant even when Velcroed down there was a gap for a bee to find it;'s way in.///soon solved by removing tags.

Do you need one though?
Impregnable but heavy
If I have bees that might need me wearing one of those then I requeen. Life's too short for ****** bees
Only my opinion
No malice intended[/QUOTE

I asked for recommendations and the OZ and BB came up,
I needed an upgrade and bought as Recommended, I wasn't aware they are considered to be heavy duty on the protection! Actually I find it pretty comfy, I don't like the front zips, I didn't pat the Velcro down properly once and a bee got in ... You can imagine what happened next!

This happened to me! One got into my mask and stung me on the face,
How did taking the tags off help? Do the Zips sit better? I was considering gaffer tape...

We find the Bee-equipment ones are considerably cooler on hot breezy days but on hot calm days they are still hot and I am glad to get out of it. We also have BBwear suits and they are definately hotter (the lightweight is cooler than the polycotton version and easier to put on). BBwear and Sherrif suits are of a better design and build quality than any of the mesh suits (I think all made in India or China)

I have a Thorne's mesh suit too - they are cheaper but the zip arrangement at the hood is a very shoddy.
On both mesh suits the veil is too close to the face (get stung on the chin and lips when bending) and can get covered in bees obscuring vision, but the mesh body, legs and arms are sting-proof.

That's what I was worried about, I tried one of Maisee's on and found it bulky but still warm. I imagined being just as hot on those days without a breeze.
