Hi,
I was hoping there might be some bee keepers in, or near to where I live so I could have a look at your hives and maybe help out a bit to find out a little more about bee keeping. I live in Ilkeston and can drive.
Many thanks in advance, Ben

Why don't you contact your local association directly?

Google 'DBKA beekeepers'

I'm in Mansfield if that's any help....

I'm just down the road at LE, my apiaries are half way, pm me for contacts.

Hi Ben. I live in ilkeston and just got my first hive of bees.

Hi I live in ilkeston Tony. I have a bit of a problem. I have just got my first hive. It was a small swarm of bees from a very kind pest controler. I have had them over a month. And realised there is no queen. Is there any chance we could swap a national frame with some brood on it. As my bees will not survive over winter with out a queen. It would be much appreciated if you can help Tony. Ps I live in ilkeston

You may have had a virgin queen with the swarm (small swarm). In which case she would have needed to get mated, then it would take a while to start laying.
