Hi all, please can you help, 3 weeks ago I did a demaree on 2 of my hives , initially all good queen started to lay, both have 3 to 4 frames of brood and I was faced with swarm cells , pic attached. There is plenty of room I the brood box, 3 supers above with space and also the brood box on top from the demaree, any ideas as its happening on both. 20210606_110748.jpg

It’s a mad year.
I’ve had one Demaree swarm 6 weeks after I did it.
If I were you I would nuc the queen and let them rear a new one

As Dani say's, they may suspect some thing could be wrong with the queen or she may just be lacking pheromone's. Reduce to one good cell/ open larvae and check again two days before she is due to emerge and remove any new cells produced.

Crazy year. I did 3 demarees this year, had to abort 2 of those as they started swarm cells in LBB ~2 weeks after…
It’s possible that I started late (though it was before any swarm prep), but I think this year was a bit crazy.

I set up three demarees this year, just one left the others reduced back to single brood. One queen (my best of course) was superseded but with miserable weather at the time virgin probably not mated and one swarmed. I recaptured the swarm and have seen the queen but she is not starting to lay yet. Trust she mated ok. While q in LBB has now disappeared. Crazy year!
