Interesting and hopefully a blip .

I attended a presentation from Prof. Tim Sparks last night and he referred to that article as just one of the climate change indicators. Another was the long-term trend towards earlier flowering for a whole range of plants which pollinators rely on (Coltsfoot was the only exception in the UK although it too was flowering earlier on mainland europe).
He made a very interesting point about the co-dependence between one species and another (and its knock-on effect further up the food chain - e.g. birds). The point was that if the plants/trees are flowering earlier, those species which depend on them have to either adapt or go into decline (and ultimately go extinct).
