dead drones on landing board

Hi advise please, I found a dozen dead or dying drones on landing board today very cold and wet here, is this normal at this time of year, there was no workers do thinking drones have been kicked out but seams early,???

Yes. A bit early yet but a lot depends on what is coming in in your area.

Not much at the moment very wet and windy, moved a hive 15 miles into town and it seams to be thriving,

My evil ladies have been flinging the fellow's out also..i put it down to low store's though..i will no doubt be wrong..

Bit early to be kicking out drones, here anyway. How are they for stores? I've read that if there is a gap in forage or they are low on stores, out go the fellas.

Honeybees are survivors. They do not generally do anything to reduce their chances of survival. Drones are not part of surviving through to better times. Date makes no difference to bees. That means adult drones or drones in the making. They are all dispensable when conditions take a turn for the worse.

One of my hives is doing it. Not lack of stores just masses of drones produced at one stage.
