Lastpass is free, and Dashlane is dirt cheap, and both just fix this issue.

Indeed. Though with Dashlane your data is encrypted and can only be accessed with your Master Password which Dashlane don't themselves store, so no one could hack it. So in theory a hack shouldn't be a threat. In theory.
