I was led to believe that Cuprinol Clear See here is bee safe but there now seems to be the same product on the shelves at Homebase in a different packaging see here but Cuprinol now say
Due to EU legislation Cuprinol has had to change the active ingredients which are used in its wood preservers. New formulations have not been tested for use on beehives and as a result Cuprinol cannot recommend any of its wood preservers on beehives.
on this page.

Anyone one know if the new stuff is OK to use or should I grab some old stuff from P*****?

i have purchaed several cans of the old green mix, or you take a chance that it wont kill your bees or use alternatives like linseed oil

the old one is the one is which comply in this leaflet, not the new formulae, it show veiws on some alternatives

Wickes preservative which use to be simiar to the green cans is now Bee unfreindly as it contains an insectcide (use search for cuprinol on forum for more info, has been discussed before)
