I take it you don't get much honey? Can't see very much fitting in a slow cooker

I've only done it a couple of times when some crystalised. I still have some of that and its still runny.
It was only that lot that has ever crystalised for some reason.

I thought a 30lb bucket standing in one of those Aldi jam makers might work. Will try it out if I need to, then there's always the rayburn low oven when winter comes....I must check the temperature when it's lit later in the year.

Must admit I like the sound of: "Old fridge, 60 watt tubular heater or two, stc1000 thermostat - job done".

How about an idiots build guide for the forum...please? I know this is a regular subject at this time of year.

My most used piece of equipment is the old fridge I use for warming honey cost 15 quid for wiring a switch and thermostat. The fridge was free.

I put the honey into a container and stand it in the slow cooker.

Top up the slow cooker with hot water and switch it on... I have a high and low setting on the one I use.
Keep stiring when you remember...

Be carefull about forgetting about it because the water will evaporate and I dont know what there is in the way of cut-outs or thermostats..

Thank you... Tried it yesterday with a 7lb tub, worked a treat on my solid Crop from last year, now seeded so will see what occurs!

Some nice recipes there....I like the thyme honey ice cream........might try that .
They do squeezy honey for coffee. I have some dark spring honey that would be just perfect for that. I wonder if there is a market somewhere?

Has anyone calculated the costs of heating the honey for 12 / 24 hours by these various methods?

60 watt bulb uncontrolled =1.404;'kilowatt hr x whatever rate you can buy your electricity , let's put it this way, it won't break the bank!
