No problem with my wet supers either. I didn't store mine sealed, just stacked up with top/bottom ventilation. I thought I could detect the smell of fermentation but the frames themselves smelt OK. The bees were like JBM says, "up into the supers like a shot". The smell persisted and I discovered a bottle of sloe gin silently dripping behind the freezer...........

I will continue to store them wet. After a summer of interfering with the bees and stealing some of their stores I think I'd like to leave them in peace instead of more faffing around with boxes.

I've never had problems with mould or fermentation - what little honey there is left wouldn't do much anyway - and the bees will sort it out in the spring. I've always found that they're in there like a shot anyway. Tried it both ways (dry and wet comb) and it's wet every time for me now.

Thanks JBM
Much obliged
:thanks:

Now that I'm allowed to post images and links I can show you all these boxes I've made to hold wet frames.

You can buy a shallow box that will just about fit a drawn national super frame and deeper box that will just about fit a drawn national brood frame. Both boxes from Wiko, shallow one and deep one. 10M threaded rod and nylon locking nuts from screwfix.
