Does anyone have any good tips on the quickest way of cleaning up old frames ready for new sheets of foundation.

I scrape them down with a hive tool then dip them in a big saucepan of boiling water. Unfortunately I don't have a pan big enough for a frame to fit right in but I just turn them, works fine..

An old Burco boiler is about the best if you can get hold of one. The Freecycle (Freegle) website is a goldmine for this sort of stuff.

.
When you boil frames in 3% lye, they will be like new.

Burning with propane torsh is good too if you have 10 frames.

I clamp the frame over newspaper in a jig, then use a hot-air gun and scraper.

i have a catering sized rectangle pan i rescued from the dump, just boil them and clean with scraper, job done.
