I found this in my old copy of 'Enquire within upon everything' dated 1865.

That's one way to do it. How times have changed! :)

Sleeping bees would be a lot nicer to work with, has anybody tried hypnotism?

I read somewhere that the after effects were .... shall we say politely tricky....

aka demons from the lowest level....

Not to be recommended.

Interesting, but one thing puzzles me - if you have separated the hive from the floor and put it on the table, surely all the sleeping bees will fall out the bottom when you pick it up to put it back?
Or have I misread the instructions?

The ones that fall out fly back to the hive when they wake up

I have gathered butterflyes. Chloroform is used for exaple in light gatherers. After several hours it kills butterflyes.

I have tryed to kill a mad beehive too, but it did not affected very well to bees. They still gived stings.

But if you knock down the bees, who takes care of brood heating?

But strange trick however.
